Tang Jiyao

Japanese: 唐継尭 - とうけいぎょう

1883-1927 Chinese soldier.
Born on July 12th in the 9th year of the Guangxu era. Graduated from the Japanese Military Academy, he became the Commander-in-Chief of Yunnan after returning to China. In 1915, he opposed the restoration of the imperial regime by Yuan Shikai, declared independence for Yunnan Province, organized the Protectorate Army, and started the Third Revolution. He advocated the Greater Yunnan doctrine, led the Southwestern warlords in opposition to the Central warlords. Died on May 23rd, 1927. Age 45. Born in Yunnan Province.

光緒9年7月12日生まれ。日本の陸軍士官学校を卒業,帰国後雲南(うんなん)都督(ととく)となる。1915年袁世凱(えん-せいがい)の帝政復活に反対し,雲南省の独立を宣言,護国軍を組織して第三革命の口火をきった。大雲南主義をとなえ,西南軍閥をリードし中央軍閥に対抗した。1927年5月23日死去。45歳。雲南省出身。
