Intercity Race

…The first recorded full-scale race took place in 1895 between Paris and Bordeaux. These races greatly satisfied people's fighting spirit, vanity, and sense of adventure, and they escalated further and further, eventually developing into "intercity races" that connected European cities and competed for first place. At the time, there were no specific circuits (courses for racing) or safety standards, and the races were unregulated, so there were many accidents that resulted in deaths and injuries not only to drivers but also to passersby and spectators, and eventually this race was completely banned. …
