Also known as Nakabagusa. A perennial grass of the Poaceae family. Widely distributed in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere, it grows on roadsides and in grasslands. It has a long underground stem, 15-50 cm tall, and slender leaves that are 2-4 mm wide. It has cone-shaped inflorescences that bloom from May to July.
