Kentucky Bluegrass
Also known as Nakabagusa. A perennial grass of the Poaceae family. Widely distributed in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere, it grows on roadsides and in grasslands. It has a long underground stem, 15-50 cm tall, and slender leaves that are 2-4 mm wide. It has cone-shaped inflorescences that bloom from May to July. It is widely used as pasture grass, and is also used as turf grass due to its strong cold resistance.

ナカバグサとも。イネ科の多年草。北半球の温帯に広く分布し，路傍や草原にはえる。地下茎は長く地中を走り，茎は高さ15〜50cm，葉は幅２〜4mmで細長い。花穂は円錐状で５〜７月に開花。牧草として広く使われ，また耐寒性が強く芝草としても利用。
