General Construction

Japanese: 建設一般 - けんせついっぱん

Its official name is the Zennihon Jiro Construction, Agriculture and Forestry General Labor Union. It is an affiliated union of Zenroren. It was founded in June 1947 as the All Japan Construction General Labor Union, bringing together civil engineering and construction workers and general day laborers, mainly in the Kanto area. The craftsmen section was later separated and it developed into an organization mainly consisting of general day laborers and free laborers, such as those employed in unemployment countermeasure projects, and it was renamed the All Japan Free Labor Union (Zennihon Jiro) at its convention in 1953. It then merged with the National Construction and Construction Materials Workers' Union in 1980 and changed its name to the Zennihon Jiro Construction General Labor Union. It played a unique role in the struggle for social security and anti-unemployment struggles, such as the formation of the Social Security Promotion Council.

正称は全日自労建設農林一般労働組合。全労連の加盟組合。1947年6月関東を中心に土木建築労働者や一般日雇労働者を結集して，全日本土建一般労働組合として発足。その後職人部が分離し，失業対策事業就労者など一般日雇労働者，自由労働者を主体とした組織として発展，53年の大会で全日本自由労働組合(全日自労)と改称。さらに80年に全国建設及建設資材労働組合と合併して全日自労建設一般労働組合と名称を改めた。社会保障推進協議会の結成など，社会保障闘争や失業反対闘争に独特の役割を果たした。
