Japanese: 元首政 - げんしゅせい

Principatus is a translation of the word "principatus" and refers to the political form during the first half of the Roman Empire, which began under Augustus at the end of the 1st century BC and continued until the establishment of Diocletian's autocracy (dominatus) at the end of the 3rd century. It was a form of joint rule between the princeps (head of state or first person) and the senate, and the public office system of the Republic was maintained, but it was essentially an imperial system. The first half was a period of prosperity for the Roman Empire and a period of "Roman peace," while the second half was the era of military emperors.
