Creosote oil - Creosote oil

A type of coal tar fraction. A mixture of medium oil and higher fractions obtained by distilling coal tar. A product made to a certain standard (JIS K 2439) by appropriately blending residual oils obtained by separating and recovering naphthalene, anthracene, etc. from medium oil, heavy oil, anthracene oil, etc. The boiling point is 200°C or higher, and the specific gravity is 1.0 or higher (20°C). It is used as a wood preservative, paint, etc.

コールタール留分の一種。コールタールを蒸留すると得られる中油以上の留分の混合物。中油、重油、アントラセン油などの各留分から、ナフタレン、アントラセンなどを分離・回収した残油分を適宜配合し一定規格（JIS K 2439）のものとした製品。沸点は200℃以上、比重は1.0以上（20℃）である。木材防腐剤、塗料などとして用いられる。
