Al-Qurnah

A town in Basra Governorate in southeastern Iraq. It is located about 60 km north-northwest of Basra, in a low marshland near the confluence of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. Because it has an abundance of water, which is rare in desert areas, there are many date palm groves in the surrounding area. There is a legend of the Garden of Eden.
