Telegraph and telephone bonds - denshin denwa saiken

Japanese: 電信電話債券 - でんしんでんわさいけん

Bonds issued by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (now Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) to raise funds needed to expand telephone facilities, etc. Abbreviated as NTT bonds. Telegraph and telephone bonds include publicly offered special telegraph and telephone bonds, government-guaranteed telegraph and telephone bonds (a type of government-guaranteed bond), non-publicly offered beneficiary-paid (subscriber-underwritten) telegraph and telephone bonds, related bonds underwritten by city and regional banks, and government-underwritten bonds underwritten by the fund management department and simple insurance (also a type of related bond). Generally, when people refer to NTT bonds, they are referring to beneficiary-paid telegraph and telephone bonds.

日本電信電話公社(現，日本電信電話(株))が電話施設等の拡充に要する資金を調達するために発行する債券。略称電電債。電信電話債券には，公募の特別電信電話債券，政府保証電信電話債券(政府保証債の一種)，非公募の受益者負担(加入者引受け)電信電話債券，都市銀行･地方銀行引受けの縁故債券，資金運用部および簡易保険引受けの政府引受債券(これも縁故債の一種)がある。一般に電電債と呼ぶときは受益者負担電信電話債券を指す。
