Japanese: 関東都督府 - かんとうととくふ

In 1906, after the Russo-Japanese War, the head of the Kwantung Leased Territory governing body was established in Port Arthur. He was called the Governor, and was appointed by an army general or lieutenant general, and also served as the commander of the garrison. He was under the supervision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 1919, the Governor-General of the Kwantung Leased Territory was abolished, and the Kwantung Agency, which was in charge of administration, and the Kwantung Army, which was in charge of military affairs, were separated and independent. From 1934, the commander of the Kwantung Army took on the dual roles of both the Governor and the ambassador to Manchuria.

日露戦争後の1906年，旅順に設置された関東州統治機関
長官を都督といい，陸軍大将・中将から任命され，駐屯軍司令官を兼任。外務大臣の監督下に置かれた。1919年関東都督は廃止され，行政担当の関東庁と軍事担当の関東軍に分離・独立した。'34年からは関東軍司令官が長官と駐満大使を兼任することになった。
