Golden Fleece

Japanese: 金羊毛 - きんようもう

…the Argonauts are a collective term for the group of heroes who participated in the expedition undertaken by the hero Jason to obtain the Golden Fleece in Greek mythology, and mean the crew of the ship Argo. The story of their adventure is called the Argonautica (the Tale of the Argonauts), and is an ancient legend that even Homer mentions as a well-known tale. Two other epic poems with this title have been handed down, including one by Apollonius of Rhodes in the Hellenistic period.

…While flying, Helle fell into the Dardanelles, which became known as the Hellespont after her, and drowned, but Phrixus reached Colchis, a country at the eastern end of the Black Sea, safely, where he offered the ram to Zeus and took the Golden Fleece and presented it to its king, Aeetes. The Golden Fleece, which was later used by the Argonauts to bring back to Greece, has a common meaning with the Aegis, in that it is a symbol of royalty linked to the clouds. The native Pueblo people of North America, who consider the clouds to be spirits of the dead, call them Sivanna, or "people of the clouds," and identify them with their ancestors, the Katsinas, who play an active role in mythology. …
