Died: January 21, 1917. Birkereth: Danish novelist. He rebelled against the radical realism led by G. Brandes, and was also opposed to socialism and psychological analysis. He was a moralist who emphasized obedience and responsibility rather than rebellion. His main works include Den gamle Præst (1899), Sind (1903), Lærer Urup (09), and Tyder (15-17).
