This is the legend of the origin of the place name "Ou" that appears in the "Izumo no Kuni Fudoki" (Fudoki). The name comes from the story that a giant god drew other lands together to create the country. The god Yatsuka Mizuomitsuno said that the "Izumo no Kuni, where Yakumo stands, is still a small and young country, and that he would like to create and sew together this small initial land. He then tied ropes to each of the lands of Misaki in Silla, Saki in Kitado, Nunami in Kitado, and Misaki in Koshi, and drew them together to the country of Izumo.
