1722‐72
Founder of the Durrani dynasty (1747-1842) in Afghanistan. Reigned 1747-72. Born into the Sadozai family of the Abdalī (later renamed Durrani) Afghan (Pashtun) tribe. He was a commander under Nadir Shah of the Afghan Afsharid dynasty of Iran, but after Nadir Shah's death in 1747, he was promoted to leader of the Durrani tribal confederation in Kandahar and founded the Durrani dynasty. This marked the beginning of the founding of Afghanistan.

アフガニスタンのドゥッラーニー朝(1747‐1842)の始祖。在位1747‐72年。アフガン(パシュトゥーン)族のアブダリーAbdalī(のちにドゥッラーニーと改称)系のサドーザイ家の出身。イランのアフシャール朝のナーディル・シャーの下の一部隊長であったが,1747年,ナーディル・シャーの死後,カンダハールでドゥッラーニー部族連合の盟主に推され,ドゥッラーニー朝を開いた。これがアフガニスタン建国の始まりである。
