A feudal lord in the early modern period. He was a fudai lord. He was a descendant of the Murakami Genji Kuga line. During the time of Hironaga, he served Matsudaira Kiyoyasu and Hirotada, and his grandson Hironobu served Tokugawa Ieyasu and was a distinguished warlord. Hironobu's third son, Hiroyuki, served Hidetada closely and was ranked with a stipend of 10,000 koku in 1648 (Keian 1), served as a young councilor and senior councilor, and in 1669 (Kanbun 9) was given 50,000 koku in Sekijuku, Shimousa Province. His son, Shigeyuki, was temporarily transferred to another fief, but returned to Sekijuku in 1705 (Hoei 2), and his descendants inherited 58,000 koku after receiving additional stipends and divisions of land, and after Hirochika, a senior councilor at the end of the Edo period, their fiefs were reduced to 43,000 koku by the start of the Meiji period. 近世大名。譜代。村上源氏久我流を称する。広長のときに松平清康,広忠に仕え,その孫広宣は徳川家康に仕えて戦功があった。広宣の三男広之は秀忠に近侍して1648年(慶安1)万石に列し,若年寄,老中を務め,69年(寛文9)下総国関宿5万石を与えられた。その子重之は一時封を移されたが,1705年(宝永2)関宿にもどり,子孫は加増,分知を経て5万8000石で相継ぎ,幕末の老中広周(ひろちか)ののち,減封により4万3000石で明治を迎えた。
