Documents of the nobles - Kugeyomonjo

Japanese: 公家様文書 - くげようもんじょ

A term used in paleography. In principle, official documents in the Ritsuryo period were written in the official style, but after the Heian period, with the transformation of the Ritsuryo system and changes in political form, document styles other than the official style appeared and were used for a long time until later times. These are collectively called kuge-style documents. They have two origins. One is the Naishi-sen, Senji, Kuzen-an, Kan-senji (Benkan Gebun), Kokushicho-sen, and Daibu-sen, which are descended from Sen, which was widely used in the Nara period to mean an order or command.

古文書学用語。律令時代の公文書は公式様（くしきよう）文書を原則としたが，平安時代以降，律令制の変質と政治形態の変化にともない，公式様以外の文書様式が現れ，後世まで長く用いられた。これらを一括して公家様文書という。その淵源は二つに分けられる。一つは奈良時代に，仰せ，命令の意で広く用いられていた宣の系譜を引く内侍宣（ないしせん），宣旨（せんじ），口宣案（くぜんあん），官宣旨(弁官下文)，国司庁宣，大府宣などである。
