Quaker

Japanese: クエーカー
Quaker
They called themselves the Society of Friends, and were a Puritan Protestant sect also known as the Society of Friends or the Friends. The name Quaker is said to have come from the fact that their members would tremble when they had mystical experiences. It was founded in the mid-17th century by England's G. Fox (1624-1691), and developed mainly in Britain and America with the help of W. Penn and others. They believe that everyone has an "inner light" from God within them, and preach that people should act according to that light's guidance. They are pacifists who reject violence and war, and are known for their conscientious objection to military service. In 1947, the British and American Service Committee and Council won the Nobel Peace Prize. It was first introduced to Japan in 1885, and is involved in the management of the Furendo Gakuen.
