Mount Kyowa - Mount Kyowa

Japanese: 享和岳 - きょうわだけ
Mount Kyowa - Mount Kyowa

...It consists of two volcanic bodies: Higashi-Chokai Volcano, with the highest peak, Shinzan (2,237m), as the central crater cone, surrounded by outer rim mountains such as Shichiko-san and Fushiogami-dake, and Nishi-Chokai Volcano, with the crater lake Tori-no-umi at its center. Shinzan was formed by an eruption in 1801 (Kyowa 1), so it is also called Kyowa-dake. In 1974, a small eruption was observed for the first time in 153 years since 1821 (Bunsei 4).
