Kingen Medicine

Japanese: 金元医学 - きんげんいがく

This refers to the medicine of the Jin and Yuan dynasties (1115-1367) in China. In China, theoretical medicine, centered on the Suwen and Lingshu (Huangdi Neijing), and clinical medicine, represented by the Treatise on Febrile Diseases and the Qianjin Fangs, had developed separately with little mutual exchange, but during this period, there was a major leap in medical thought in which the two were fused in the form of a theory of treatment. The direct trigger for this was Cheng Wuji's Commentary on the Treatise on Febrile Diseases, which interpreted the Treatise on Febrile Diseases in accordance with the theories of Suwen, but it can be said to have followed a kind of rationalist trend, as represented by Song learning.

中国の金，元両王朝時代(1115‐1367)の医学をいう。中国では《素問》《霊枢》(《黄帝内経》)などを中心とする理論医学と《傷寒論》《千金方》などで代表される臨床医学は，相互の交流はほとんどなく別々に発展してきたが，この時代には治療の理論づけという形で両者の融合が行われるという医学思想上の大きな飛躍があった。その直接のきっかけとなったのは《傷寒論》を《素問》の説で解釈した成無己の《註解傷寒論》であるが，宋学で代表されるような一種の合理主義の流れに従ったものといえる。
