Golden Pheasant - Golden Pheasant
A bird of the Phasianidae family. Wingspan: 19cm. Males have a long tail and a red underside. The feathers on their head and lower back are golden, hence the name. Females are brown all over with scattered dark brown markings. Native to southwestern China, they live in mountainous areas at altitudes of 900-1300m. They are often kept as ornamental animals.
