Law No. 62 of 1953. It was established for the purpose of the government purchasing gold to prepare for external payments and to investigate the actual state of gold trading. This required those who acquired crude gold to refine it into bullion and sell it to the government within a certain period of time. The "Gold Control Law Enforcement Order" was then enacted, which stipulated the amount of gold to be sold to the government, but for gold from 1968 onwards, the obligation to sell to the government was suspended by a special temporary law, and it became possible to sell the entire amount freely. However, the obligation to report on gold trading still remained. Source: Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia About Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia Information |
