He received a prophecy from Mahavairocana that he would become an Akṣobhya. He is now the Buddha who rules over the land of joy, and encourages all living beings to go to the Pure Land. …

The first sutra that goes one step further from the belief in Tushita Heaven and describes the Pure Land itself, that is, the first Pure Land sutra, is the Akshobhya Buddha's Land of Wonderful Joy, which describes the Pure Land of Akshobhya Buddha in the East, and states that women are also present in this Buddha's land, and that all the people wear five-colored clothes taken from trees.
