Yuqing Zhaoying Palace (English: Yuqing Zhaoying Palace)

Japanese: 玉清照応宮 - ぎょくせいしょうおうきゅう（英語表記）Yù qīng zhào yìng gōng

A large palace built in 1014 (7th year of the Dazhong Xiangfu era) during the Northern Song Dynasty in China. In the 1st year of the Dazhong Xiangfu era (1008) under the third emperor Zhenzong, a sacred book (celestial book) was said to have descended from the heavens to the left gate of the palace, and grand celebrations were held in various places, and buildings related to Taoism were constructed. The Yuqing Zhaoying Palace is a Taoist temple built to enshrine the Heavenly Book and worship the emperor's ancestors, adjacent to the northwest of the Kaifeng Palace. It measures 311 steps east to west and 430 steps north to south, and was completed in six years using national funds under the overall direction of Finance Minister Ding Wei, but was reduced to ashes in a fire caused by a thunderstorm in 1029 (7th year of the Tiansheng era).

中国，北宋時代，1014年(大中祥符7)に建造された大宮殿。3代皇帝真宗の大中祥符1年(1008)，天から瑞書(天書)が宮中左承門に下ったとして，各地で天地が盛大に祭られ，道教関係の建物が造営された。開封宮城の北西に接して，天書を奉安し，皇帝の祖先を祭るため建てられた道観が玉清照応宮である。東西311歩，南北430歩，大蔵大臣丁謂（ていい）が総指揮に当たり，国費を傾け6年がかりで完成したが，1029年(天聖7)の雷雨による火災で灰燼（かいじん）に帰した。
