Aba (float) - Aba (English spelling) buoy

Aba (float) - Aba (English spelling) buoy
To keep fishing nets in the required shape underwater, it is usually necessary to balance the upward and downward forces of buoyancy and gravity. The buoyancy required for this is achieved using ridges, also called uke or ukashi. First of all, it is necessary for the ridges to be large, but it is also desirable that the buoyancy does not change as much as possible as a result of the passage of time underwater, such as absorbing water or being deformed by water pressure. It is also desirable for the ridges to be easy to process and to be supplied in large quantities at low cost. In the past, paulownia wood was considered the best, and other woods such as bamboo, cork, pine, and cedar were used, but these had problems with water absorption.
