A town in Iwanai County in the southwest of Hokkaido. It occupies the Hori-kappu River basin, which flows into the Sea of Japan. The town is primarily agricultural, producing rice and vegetables. Watermelons in particular are number one in the prefecture in terms of both shipping volume and sales value. Kunitomi is home to a Siporex factory and an electronics factory.
