A biennial plant of the Brassicaceae family. Botanically, it is considered to be a variety of the same species as rape and Chinese cabbage. It is also called Mizuna. The leaves are deeply lobed, and the flowers are yellow and cross-shaped like rape. It is cultivated for food. It was named after the area around Kyoto, where it has been cultivated since ancient times. アブラナ科の越年草。植物学上はアブラナやハクサイと同種の変種とされる。一名ミズナ。葉は深裂し,花はアブラナのような黄色の十字形花。食用のため栽培する。特に京都付近で古くからつくられたのでこの名がある。
