A Greek politician of the 5th and 4th centuries BC. In 404-403 BC, he expelled the Thirty Tyrants and became one of the leaders of the Athenian democratic party. In 399 BC, he was one of the three accusers of Socrates, for which he was later exiled and is said to have been killed at Heracleia in Pontus, but this is not certain.
