An electronic circuit that amplifies or decreases a continuous analog electrical signal or changes its waveform, and within its range of capability, the output is linearly proportional to the input amplitude. For this reason, it is also called a linear circuit. In a broad sense, analog circuits include various amplifier circuits that handle large amounts of power and modulation circuits that transmit audio and video over radio waves, but generally, it refers to a circuit that handles analog signals for manipulating and processing information of less than 10 volts. It outputs signals (waveforms) that are differentiated or integrated from the input signal (waveform), creates sawtooth waves and triangular waves, and performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in an analog manner.

連続的なアナログ電気信号を増大させたり，減少させたり，またその波形を変形させる電子回路のことで，その能力範囲内では出力が入力振幅に直線的に比例する。このためリニア回路linear circuitとも呼ばれる。広義には大きな電力を扱う各種の増幅回路や，電波に音声，映像を乗せる変調回路などもアナログ回路であるが，一般には十数V以下の情報操作･処理用アナログ信号を取り扱う回路を指す。入力信号(波形)を微分したり積分した信号(波形)を出力したり，のこぎり波や三角波などを作ったり，アナログ的に加減乗除算を行ったりする。
