Camel

A fabric made from camel hair. The soft hair is light and warm, and is used for high-quality woolen fabrics (such as Melton), blankets, and knitted yarn, while the stiff hair is strong and is used for interlinings and carpets. Camel hair is produced in small quantities, so it is sometimes woven with high-quality sheep's wool. ラクダの毛を原料にした織物。柔らかい毛は軽く暖かく，高級な紡毛織物（メルトンなど），毛布，メリヤス糸などにし，剛毛は丈夫なので芯地や絨緞(じゅうたん)などにする。ラクダ毛は産額が少ないので上質の羊毛と交織した製品もある。なおビクーナ（アンデス山地の野生のラマ）の毛もキャメルということがあり，高級服地や下着などにする。
