Japanese: 木頭 - きとう

This is the former village area in the western part of Naka Town in the central-southern part of Tokushima Prefecture. It is located in the uppermost reaches of the Naka River. In 1957, parts of Kitou Village and Kamikito Village were merged to form Kitou Village. In 2005, it was merged with Aioi Town, Kaminaka Town, Washiki Town, and Kizawa Village to form Naka Town. There are beautiful cedar forests, and it is known as the Kitou forestry area, with timber being transported via National Route 195. It produces high-quality cedar chopsticks, and yuzu is a specialty. The village area belongs to Chubu-Yamakei Prefectural Natural Park and Tsurugiyama Quasi-National Park. Along the Tsurugiyama Super Forest Road is the hidden gem of Takanose Gorge.

徳島県中南部，那賀町西部の旧村域。那賀川最上流域にある。 1957年木頭村と上木頭 (かみきとう) 村の一部が合体し木頭村が発足。 2005年相生町，上那賀町，鷲敷町，木沢村と合体し那賀町となる。スギの美林があり，木頭林業地帯として知られ，木材は国道 195号線を通って運搬される。スギの高級割箸を産し，ユズは特産。村域は中部山渓県立自然公園，剣山国定公園に属する。剣山スーパー林道沿いに高の瀬峡の秘境がある。
