...Also, for the first time in history, three dancers in their early teens or similar age - T. Tumanova, Baronova, and Ryabushinska - were selected to play the leading roles as baby ballerinas, which made them very popular. In addition to following the legacy of Diaghilev, the troupe also premiered many works that have left their mark in ballet history, such as Massine's symphonic ballets "The Omens" and "The Colleartium" (both 1933), "Symphonie Fantastique" (1936), and "The Red and the Black" (1939), the comic "Les Joys de Paris" (1938) with music by Offenbach, the avant-garde "Children's Games" (1932) and "Bacchanale" (1939), Balanchine's abstract ballet "Danse Concertante" (1944), Fokine's "Love's Trial" (1936) and "Paganini" (1939), Nijinska's "A Hundred Kisses" (1935), and "Les Graduation Ball" (1940) by David Lichine (1910-72), who was trained by the troupe. However, there were many problems with its management, and soon after its launch, one of its founders, Blum, left, and from 1938 Masin took over as president.
