Iida River [town] - Iitagawa
A former town in Minamiakita County, western Akita Prefecture. The eastern area is covered with forests, while the western area is covered with beautiful rice fields, producing a lot of rice. The Ou Main Line runs through the town. It also produces a lot of sake, miso, and soy sauce. In March 2005, it merged with Showa Town and Tenno Town in Minamiakita County to become a city, Katagami City. 15.80 km2 . 5,034 people (2003).
