Gichu-ji Temple

An independent temple in Bamba, Otsu City , Shiga Prefecture. Formerly of the Tendaijimon sect. The mountain name is Gizan. It is said that in 1553 ( Tenbun 22 ), Sasaki Takayori, the guardian of Omi Province, built this temple on the spot where Kiso Yoshinaka was killed. Matsuo Basho liked this place and stayed here for a long time. The graves of Kiso Yoshinaka and Matsuo Basho are located here. Yoshinakadera. Tomoe Temple. 滋賀県大津市馬場(ばんば)にある単立寺院。もと天台寺門宗。山号は義山。天文二二年（一五五三）近江国の守護佐々木高頼が木曾義仲討死の地に建立と伝えられる。松尾芭蕉がこの地を好み、この寺に久しく滞在した。木曾義仲、松尾芭蕉の墓がある。よしなかでら。巴(ともえ)寺。
