Japanese: シシャ･パンマ[山]（英語表記）Shisha Pangma

The highest peak in the Langtang mountain range in the Nepal Himalayas. Located in Tibet, it is 8,013m above sea level (8,046m according to the Survey of India). The name of the mountain means "mountain of severe weather" in Tibetan, but in Nepal and India it is known as Gosainthan (meaning "abode of saints"). For a long time it was unexplored, and it is the last unclimbed 8,000m peak. In 1964, a Chinese expedition (led by Xu Jing) succeeded in the first ascent. Since 1980, it has been climbed by teams from West Germany, Austria, Japan, and a joint Italian-West Germany team.

ネパール･ヒマラヤ，ランタン山群の最高峰。チベット内にあり，標高8013m(インド測量局は8046m)。山名はチベット語で〈厳しい天候の山〉の意味であるが，ネパールやインドでは，ゴザインタンGosainthan(〈聖者の居所〉の意)の名で知られてきた。長い間未踏査で，最後の未踏8000m峰のこの山は，1964年中国登山隊(許競隊長)が初登頂に成功。80年以降，西ドイツ，オーストリア，日本，イタリア･西ドイツ合同の各隊が登頂した。
