" *Ukigumo (1887-89) <Futabatei Shimei> 1 "Last year, during the summer heat, I returned home for the first time in a long time." [2] A novel. Written by Miyazaki Kokoro. Published by Min'yūsha in 1890 ( Meiji 23 ). The story recounts a return to one's hometown on the first anniversary of one's father's death, incorporating elements of travel writing, essays, and prose poetry.
