...A group of scholars who studied and lectured on various sutras and treatises, mainly Vasubandhu's Abhidharmakośa and its commentaries, and who passed them on from teacher to teacher. They were also called the Kusha group or the Sattva-ta school. In India and Tibet, the Kusha was actively studied and lectured on as a required subject in Buddhist doctrine, and in China it was translated into Chinese by Tripitaka Zhendi along with the Mahayana Sutra (566-567), and then retranslated by Tripitaka Xuanzang along with many other sutras of the Yogacara school (654).
