...The Ming Dynasty book "Xinzheng Ge Gu Yaolun" states that "At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, there was a master craftsman of spearhead called Peng Junbao in Xitang, Jiaxing Prefecture, and he was extremely famous," and records that there was a master craftsman of spearhead called Peng Junbao in what is now Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, but no works that can be identified as his work have been handed down. The oldest surviving spearhead is a peacock spearhead sutra box inscribed with the date of the second year of Yanyou in the Yuan Dynasty (1315). It has a distinctive shape with a large chamfer on the lid, and eight sutra boxes of almost the same construction remain in Japan, five of which have the year and place of production stamped in black lacquer. ...
