Chemical formula: NaF. Commonly known as sodium fluoride. Colorless cubic or tetragonal regular hexahedral or octahedral crystal. Rock salt structure. Melting point: 993°C. Boiling point: 1704°C. Specific gravity: 2.79. Refractive index: 1.3258. Solubility in 100g of water is 4g (0°C) and 5g (100°C), significantly lower than potassium salt KF. Slightly soluble in ethyl alcohol. Aqueous solution is alkaline due to hydrolysis and corrodes glass. NaF + H ₂ O ⇄ NaOH + HF Dry sodium fluoride does not corrode glass.

化学式NaF。俗にフッ化ソーダとも呼ばれる。無色の立方または正方晶系の正六面体または八面体結晶。岩塩型構造。融点993℃。沸点1704℃。比重2.79。屈折率1.3258。水100gへの溶解度は4g(0℃)，5g(100℃)で，カリウム塩KFに比べて著しく低い。エチルアルコールに微溶。水溶液は加水分解のためアルカリ性を呈し，ガラスを侵す。　NaF＋H₂O⇄NaOH＋HF乾いたフッ化ナトリウムはガラスを侵さない。
