Indian poet and critic. Court poet of King Ananta of Kashmir (1029-64). A disciple of Abhinavagupta. A Hindu, he was initially a Shaivite but later converted to Vaishnavism. He was a man of great learning and produced many powerful works in various fields. His major works include the Bhārata-mañjari, Samayamātṛkā, and Kavikaṇṭhābharaṇa.
