...It lives in rocky reefs facing the open sea at depths of 5 to 20 meters, and feeds on algae, small crustaceans, worms, and shellfish. It is said to have a sea smell, and is also called Kusanboo (Chiba), but because its digestive tract has a bad smell, it is delicious if cooked well. In the Kansai region, it is washed and enjoyed as sashimi. Recently, it has also come to be eaten in the Kanto region.
