Nobutaka Kusaka
1818-1869 A Japanese classicist of the late Edo period.
Born on April 9, 1812. A priest at Toga Shrine in Ichinomiya, Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture). Studied Confucianism under Yoshida Toudou and Japanese classics under Hirata Atsutane. In 1868, he became a servant at the Kyoto Imperial Academy, but died suddenly on June 21, 1869. He was 52 years old. His pen names were Sugino Kanedo and Sugimonshu. His works include "Sedou-ka Excerpts" and "A Brief Account of Festivals."

文化15年4月9日生まれ。三河(愛知県)一宮の砥鹿(とが)神社の神職。吉田東堂に儒学を,平田篤胤(あつたね)に国学をまなぶ。明治元年京都皇学所御用係となるが,2年6月21日急死した。52歳。号は杉廼金戸,杉門主人。著作に「旋頭歌(せどうか)抄」「祭典略」など。
