〘 noun 〙① A low, small doorway built next to a gate, through which one enters and exits. kuguri (passing through) . kirido (passing through) . [Nippo Jisho (Nippo Dictionary) (1603-04)] ※Ukiyo-zoshi, Koshoku Ichidai Otoko (1682), vol. 1 "Take out your sandals and go through the pass - through door." ② A door used to sneak into a tea room. A sliding wooden door with no upper frame, secured by a latch. There are also swing-out doors.
