Guadalupe Declaration

…He was born to a landowner in the northern state of Coahuila, and served as state governor and member of the federal congress before joining FI Madero's movement when the Mexican Revolution broke out. In March 1913, he issued the Guadalupe Manifesto, which called for the overthrow of counterrevolutionary forces and the protection of the constitution, and organized a constitutionalist movement. He fought as the first commander of the constitutionalist army, and ended the revolutionary civil war. During the civil war, he announced many social reform laws, including the land reform law, and after conquering all of Mexico, he enacted the 1917 Constitution, which included these reform laws. …
