Kishu mandarin orange (Kishu mikan) - Kishu mandarin orange
A fruit tree of the Rutaceae family native to China. It grows tall and has white flowers. The fruit ripens in December, is orange-colored, oblate and small, and weighs about 50g. The skin is thin and easy to peel. The flesh is soft, juicy, and not very sour. It contains 5 to 6 seeds, but is of good quality. It has been commonly enjoyed since the Edo period, but as cultivation of Unshu mandarins became more common, it disappeared as a commercial product.
