The angular distance measured in the direction of a celestial body's motion, based on a line connecting the perihelion of the celestial body and the sun. There are three angles: true anomaly, eccentric anomaly, and mean anomaly, all of which are zero degrees at the perihelion and 180 degrees at the aphelion. When a celestial body moves in a circular orbit, the three angles are the same.
