A town in Nakagawa-gun, northern Hokkaido. Long from north to south, mostly mountainous, with settlements developed along the midstream of the Teshio River, and the Soya Main Line running through it. Dairy farming is the main form of agriculture, but field crops are also cultivated. There is also a lot of timber production. Area: 594.74 km2 . Population: 1,907 (2010).
