…Sijo, which followed the Korean song form from the Hyangga era and shortened it, was completed in the late Goryeo period, but became the representative poem of the Yi Dynasty. Until the end of the 17th century, the style was strongly influenced by scholars' improvisational poetry and was moralistic and idealistic, but with the emergence of commoner writers such as Kim Chun-tak and Kim Su-jang, it became realistic, humorous, and hedonistic, and the form changed from the short Pyeongsijo to the medium-length and long Otsijo and Jiseosijo. They are collected in the poetry collections Blue Hills Young Eon and Haedong Songs. …
