Zheng Zhen (English name)

Japanese: 鄭珍 - ていちん（英語表記）Zhèng Zhēn

1806‐64
A Chinese scholar and poet in the late Qing dynasty. His pen name was Ziyin and his pen name was Chai Weng. He was born in Zunyi County, Guizhou Province, and even after becoming a juren at the age of 31, he continued to study philology and the history of ancient systems as a teacher at the southernmost county school in the province. Like Han Yu of the Tang dynasty and Su Shi of the Song dynasty, his poetry is full of controversy, but his spirit, which was supported by local customs and ancient customs, shows no signs of the unrest of the end of the century, as seen in his exploration of the history of creation in the mountains and rivers, his reading and life based in farming, and his risking his life to defend against the Miao rebellion in 1854 (the 4th year of Chengfeng).

中国，清代末期の学者，詩人。字は子尹（しいん），号は柴翁（さいおう）。貴州省遵義県に生まれ，31歳で挙人となったあとも省内最南端の県学教員として文字学と古代制度史を考究した。唐の韓愈，宋の蘇軾（そしよく）に似て，その詩には論議が目だつが，山川に造化のあとをたずね農耕に読書と生活の根拠をおき，1854年(成豊4)のミヤオ(苗)族の反乱に身を挺して防戦するなど，土着と古風に支えられた精神には世紀末的な動揺を感じさせない。
