Recently, cases of "abandonment" have become apparent, where a minimum of financial protection is given to those in need of support, but physical care and emotional ties are denied. This kind of "abandonment" is not only occurring between husband and wife, but also between elderly parents and children, and between minor children and their parents, and it is believed that there are quite a few cases among these that constitute the crime of abandonment under the Criminal Code.
