[raw]? [Died] King Uija 20 (660) The 31st (and last) king of Baekje, one of Korea's three ancient kingdoms (reigned 641-660). Eldest son of the previous king, King Mu. During his reign, the Tang Dynasty was established in China, and Baekje was in a time of crisis as King Taejong Muyeol of Silla, which was to the east, was at the height of its power. At the beginning of his reign, he defeated the Silla army advancing westward, but was gradually oppressed by the Silla army. In the 20th year of King Uija's reign (660), the Tang Dynasty allied with King Muyeol of Silla as a prelude to the subjugation of Goguryeo, and attacked Baekje from land and sea, defeating it. As a result, over 10,000 people, from royal family members to peasants, were forcibly taken to the Tang Dynasty, and the king himself died in Tang.
