The material is then picked up and dropped from the vanes in a curtain-like motion, repeatedly coming into contact with hot air as it moves gradually in the direction of the inclination of the cylinder, where it is dried. This type of drying is suitable for granular and flaky materials.

In this method, powdered materials are continuously fed into hot gas flowing at high speeds of 10 to 30 m/s inside a vertical pipe, where they are instantly dispersed and suspended, and then rapidly dried while being transported by air. Figure 7 shows an example of this method. For cohesive materials, the materials and hot gas are sometimes introduced into the center of a rotary disperser or crusher, and crushing and drying are carried out simultaneously there.
